We are thrilled to highlight the outstanding work of Andrew Benner, DO, whose research has been published in the British Journal of Anesthesia—one of the top anesthesiology journals worldwide. This high-impact publication is a testament to Dr. Benner’s dedication, intellect, and perseverance throughout his training.
The research was conducted during his residency at the University of Michigan under the guidance of principal investigator Michael Mathis, MD, and it is titled “Heart failure diagnostic accuracy, intraoperative fluid management, and postoperative acute kidney injury: a single-centre prospective observational study”. This achievement not only reflects the caliber of mentorship and collaboration at the University of Michigan, but also showcases the meaningful contributions residents can make to the field of anesthesiology.
